6 Cosy Hot Drinks to Make at Home

6 Cosy Hot Drinks to Make at Home

There's a particular kind of magic in a warm cup held between two hands on a cold morning. The steam curling upward, the first quiet sip, the small pause before the day properly begins.

Wellness, we know, isn't only found in supplements. It lives in these little rituals too - the unhurried moments, the comfort of something cosy, the gentle ceremony of making a hot, yummy drink just the way you like it.

So, I wandered around the office and asked everyone the same question:

"What's the warming winter drink you reach for when the mornings turn crisp and the afternoons ask for something cosy?" Here's what they told me...

Find your ritual below.

Cosy Coconut Cacao Recipe

For the chocolate devotees.

Some mornings simply call for a hug in a mug. This one is rich, velvety and just indulgent enough to feel like a treat - the kind of cup you wrap both hands around and sink into.

Make it yourself:

  • 2 tbsp cacao

  • 2 tbsp coconut cream

  • 1 level tsp cinnamon

  • 1 level tsp nutmeg (freshly grated is the shiz!)

  • 1½ tsp honey or as much as your heart desires

  • 1 large cup hot water

Whiz everything together with a frother or whisk. Pour into your most-loved mug and settle in.

A little tip: Cacao is a natural source of magnesium - one more lovely reason to linger over your morning cup.

Love a cacao? Try Four Sigmatic Mushroom Cacao with Cordyceps - a decadent, European-style hot chocolate that tastes like pure dessert. Just add ½ cup hot water for something rich and cosy.

Quick & Cosy Collagen Chai Recipe

For the busy-morning romantics.

A little indulgence, even on the go. This spiced chai is aromatic and authentic, yet quick enough to slip into the busiest of mornings, with a scoop of collagen stirred through for good measure.

Make it yourself:

  • 1 heaped tsp loose-leaf chai (black tea with cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, ginger, nutmeg & pepper), or a quality chai tea bag when time is short

  • 1 cup freshly boiled water

  • Your favourite milk, lightly warmed and frothed

  • 1 scoop naturally sweetened vanilla Therapure Collagen Peptides + C

Steep the chai for 3–4 minutes, pour into a generous mug, add milk to taste, and stir through your collagen. Then sit, inhale the spice, and sip slowly.

A little tip: Collagen peptides help support healthy skin, joints and gut, a warming reason to make this your morning ritual.

Love a chai? Try Four Sigmatic Calm Organic Chai Latte Mix - a caffeine-free, sweet-and- spicy blend that gently soothes your nerves and digestion

Morning Green Tea Recipe

For the slow-and-steady souls.

There's something quietly lovely about easing into the day rather than rushing at it. A cup of green tea is calm, unhurried, and just the thing to sip while the morning finds its feet.

Make it yourself:

  • 1 tsp loose-leaf green tea (or 1 quality tea bag)

  • 1 cup hot water (just off the boil - around 80°C is ideal)

  • A slice of lemon or a little honey, if you like

Steep for 2–3 minutes, pour into your favourite mug, and take a moment before the day begins in earnest.

A little tip: Green tea is a natural source of L-theanine, a lovely reason to make it your morning ritual.

Prefer coffee? Try Four Sigmatic Balance Organic Half Caf Coffee (ground) – a smooth, ground coffee with half the caffeine, for an easy, even-keeled start to the morning.

Barista-Style Collagen Coffee Recipe

For the café-at-home crowd.

Who says the good coffee has to stay in the café? This one is rich, smooth and quietly upgraded - a proper barista-style brew with a scoop of collagen folded in.

Make it yourself:

  • 1 shot espresso (or strong brewed coffee)

  • 1 cup milk of choice, steamed or frothed

  • 1 scoop vanilla NeoCell Grassfed Collagen Peptides

Whisk the collagen into your espresso, or steam it straight through the milk, either works beautifully. Combine, then sit back and savour the first sip.

A little tip: Collagen peptides help support healthy skin, joints and gut, an easy addition to a coffee you're already making.

Love collagen? Try NeoCell Grassfed Collagen Peptides - a non-GMO, grass-fed, hydrolysed powder that dissolves cleanly into just about anything, hot or cold.

Bedtime Hot Cocoa Drink Recipe

For the wind-down dreamers.

When the day is done and the screen finally dims, this is the cup that says: slow down now. Warm, comforting and gently sweet, a cosy full stop to the evening.

Make it yourself:

  • 1 sachet or scoop Four Sigmatic Calm Organic Cacao Mix

  • 1 cup milk of choice, warmed

  • A drizzle of honey, if you like it a touch sweeter

Gently warm your milk, whisk through the cacao until smooth and frothy, then pour into your favourite mug. Dim the lights, get cosy, and sip slowly.

A little tip: A warm cacao before bed is a lovely way to unwind and ease into a restful evening.

Love hot cocoa? Try Four Sigmatic Calm Organic Cacao Mix - tastes like chocolate, not like mushrooms - the cosy way to end your day.

Golden Moon Milk Recipe

For the evening ritualists.

As the light softens and the day draws to its close, there's this: a fragrant, golden cup rooted in Ayurvedic tradition. Softly spiced, faintly sweet, and made for savouring slowly under the last of the evening light.

Make it yourself:

  • 1 cup almond milk

  • A pinch of saffron threads

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • A pinch of ground cardamom

  • ¼ tsp vanilla essence

  • Honey, to taste

Gently warm the almond milk with the saffron, cinnamon and cardamom, letting the spices infuse for a few minutes. Stir through the vanilla and honey, then pour into your favourite mug and sip slowly.

A little tip: In Ayurveda, warm golden milk is a beloved evening ritual, a beautiful way to  settle down and honour the close of the day.

Love golden milk? Pair it with a drop of Life Cykel Reishi Mushroom Extract – a liquid extract of whole Reishi, infused with Australian native Kakadu Plum. A small, considered addition to your wind-down cup.

Whichever ritual calls to you, a morning cup to wake up slowly, or a golden one to let the day go gently - here's to warm mugs and beautiful moments.
