This marine-based formula is derived from a sustainably-sourced unicellular marine microalgae and delivers 500 mg of DHA per serve in small, easy-to-swallow vegetarian softgels. Due to the body's poor ability to convert plant-based omega-3 ALA (alpha-linolenic acid) to healthy amounts of DHA, it can be difficult for vegans and vegetarians to get enough of this foundational nutrient. Essential fatty acids (EFA's) are nutrients that are essential for optimal health. They cannot be produced by the body so must be obtained through the diet and/or supplementation.
