Supporting musculoskeletal comfort

Focusing on nourishing overall joint health and wellness will pay dividends in the long-run, helping you stay active for longer without the typical twinges and niggles that people accept as commonplace with aging. Whilst repetitive use of joints can increase general wear and tear on the joint anatomy over time, a variety of other environmental, dietary, lifestyle and activity factors can also contribute either positively or negatively to the health and comfort of joints with age.

The body initiates a complex biological response for dealing with harmful stimuli, such as injury, pathogens, toxins or damaged cells, through the release of a variety of cellular chemicals or mediators, like cytokines. These chemicals act as marshals for the immune response, increasing blood flow to the impacted tissue and bringing with it heat, redness, sensitisation and swelling, leading to a temporary reduction in function. Cytokine stimulation is a necessary and protective function in the short term, but can become problematic when chronically overproduced.

The specialist blend of Turmeric, Boswellia, Devil’s Claw and Ginger all support the body’s natural balance of cytokine production, and together support healthy joint function and comfort.

Take a closer look at the herbs
  • Turmeric – contains the active plant constituents called curcuminoids help support joints from normal daily wear and tear. Turmeric has a long history of use in supporting the body’s natural cytokine balance and also provides potent antioxidant support against oxidative stress.
  • Devil’s Claw – a native of South Africa, this herb has had a number of phytochemical constituents identified, with most research centering on the iridoid glycosides called harpoagosides. Research studies find these constituents support healthy cytokine pathways in the body, particularly with regards musculoskeletal tissue.
  • Boswellia – is a resin commonly known as Indian Frankincense and has traditionally been used to support a balanced cytokine response in the body for healthy and comfortable joints. It also has a long history of use in supporting the liver and healthy blood lipid levels. Boswellia works synergistically with the curcumins in Turmeric for added potency.
  • Ginger – this warming herb supports a healthy cytokine response in the body, providing a synergistic effect when used alongside other herbs as a result of its additional circulatory support. Healthy blood flow to all tissues allows for the nourishment of nutrients and oxygens and the necessary removal of waste products.
  • Black Pepper – contains the active constituent piperine which supports the uptake and function of Turmeric’s curcumin constituents and other herbs in the body.
  • Quercetin – is among the most abundant natural flavonoids available, found in high concentrations in plants such as onions, apples, berries, red wine, broccoli, capers, pomegranate and the herb Ginkgo. Works synergistically with Turmeric to support the uptake and availability of its curcumin constituents to support joint health.
