Why do allergens cause problems?

When the body is exposed to an allergen, it’s a case of mistaken identity - the body believes a harmless substance is a potential threat. For some individuals, breathing in pollen or pet dander, or eating a particular food, kicks off an immune response. Production of Immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies ramp up, leading to an immune reaction and the release of histamine in the nasal passages. Mucus comes next, creating those unpleasant signs like a runny nose, tender or prickly throat, water eyes, and coughing, all in an effort to expel the instigator. If exposure to the substance continues, the immune system will continue to react until exposure to the allergen is eliminated.

Vitamin C supports white blood cell activity, respiratory tissue function, and mucosal membrane health.

Magnesium supports smooth muscle relaxation in the bronchial tubes and blood vessels, open airways for free airflow during allergic responses.

Quercetin helps stabilise mast cells for healthy histamine levels.  Histamine is the chemical responsible for signs like a runny nose, and itchy or watery eyes after allergen exposure. As a powerful antioxidant, it also supports mucosal cell health and well-being when exposed to environmental irritants and allergens.

Bromelain is a pineapple-derived protein-digesting enzyme that helps thin mucus for natural flow and elimination. It also supports the break-down compounds like bradykinin and fibrin involved in swelling, for sinus comfort. 

Citrus Bioflavonoids are plant compounds that support vitamin C absorption and blood vessel health, helping to support nasal passage comfort, and respiratory tissue health and well-being. 

Astragalus supports the production of immune-regulating cytokines and antibody activity, for a healthy immune response to allergens - allowing the immune system to provide robust support after exposure has been eliminated. 

Nettle leaf is rich in natural antihistamines like quercetin and beta-sitosterol. It helps block histamine receptors, settle immune system hyper-reaction to allergens, and support allergen signs during times of heightened environmental exposure.

Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid) 500 mg, Magnesium (as oxide) 30 mg, Quercetin (as dihydrate from Sophora japonica) 1,000mg, Bromelain (from Ananas comosus) Stem (2400 GDU/g), 250 mg, Citrus Bioflavonoids (50% [100mg] flavones) 200 mg, Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus) Root Extract (5:1) 100 mg, Nettle (Urtica dioica) Leaf 100 mg. Other ingredients: Hypromellose (vegetable cellulose), rice bran, and silica.

Does not contain: Artificial colours, flavours, preservatives, yeast, eggs, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, milk, or magnesium stearate

Recommended intake:

Take three capsules daily with or without food.
