What is quorom sensing?

SkinRenew™ contains spore-based Bacillus probiotics that become active when they touch the skin.  Once activated, they use a natural process called quorom sensing - a way microbes communicate through gentle chemical signals.  These signals help them sense their surroundings and work in harmony with the skin's natural ecosystem. Through this interaction, the formula helps maintain a balanced surface microbiome and supports the skin's protective barrier for a smooth, healthy-looking appearance. 

What's inside Gutsi® SkinRenew™?

Bacillus spores (proprietary blend) - Bacillus spores are spore-forming microbes that remain dormant in the formula until activated by the skin’s natural warmth, oils, and moisture. Once active, they engage in quorum sensing to assess the microbial environment and natural bacterial gene expression, while supporting the growth of beneficial commensals. Through this targeted modulation, Bacillus spores help recalibrate the skin microbiome, support skin clarity, and a healthier, resilient barrier for visibly balanced, calm, and radiant skin. 

Squalane - a stable, skin-identical lipid derived from sugarcane, squalane mimics the body’s natural sebum, provides lightweight hydration and helps support the lipid barrier. It helps maintain skin suppleness and hydration levels, including in mature or dry skin. It’s also non-comedogenic (does not clog pores) making it an ideal base for delivering spore-based support. 

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride - these medium-chain triglycerides, sourced from coconut oil, offer deep nourishment without heaviness. Rich in fatty acids, they help support barrier integrity, moisture retention and smoothness. With a gentle biocompatible profile, they are ideal for sensitive or reactive skin to support normal hydration and skin comfort.

Glyceryl Caprylate - a multifunctional plant-derived compound that acts as an emulsifier, co-emollient and skin conditioning agent. It supports lipid regulation, moisture retention and contributes to a smooth, skin-compatible texture. Natural antimicrobial activity supports stability and preservation of the formula for purity, consistency, and performance.

Competitive exclusion in action

Through a natural process called competitive exclusion, SkinRenew™ supports beneficial microbes balance on the skin surface. Once activated, Bacillus spores support local pH stability and natural lipopeptide activity, factors that contribute to microbial diversity on the skin’s surface. Lipopeptides are natural compounds that support a diverse balance of commensal microbes on the skin surface. This interaction helps support balanced tone and visible resilience of the skin barrier.

Directions for use: 

Suggested Use:

Shake vigorously before each use to evenly distribute Bacillus spores throughout the serum. Using the dropper, dispense 1-3 drops onto damp or dry skin once daily. Gently massage or pat into the skin for optimal absorption. For best results apply after cleansing and toning and before moisturising. 

For best results:

• Apply daily to support hydration and skin surface balance. 
• Continued use helps support and maintain barrier balance. 
• Pair with SporeBiotic™ to support microbial diversity from within and align gut and skin microbiome balance.

Post-procedure application:

SkinRenew™ is suitable for use after non-invasive skin treatments to help assist in supporting calm skin, microbial balance, and barrier function:

• Post dermaplaning, peels, waxing, microdermabrasion or microneedling (after 24 hrs)
• In barrier repair regimens and skin reset routines
• As a skin biome “anchor” before layering actives or moisturisers
• Post-treatment facials for all skin types and concerns

Cautions:

• Do not use on broken skin. Apply to adjacent areas as the Bacillus spores will migrate to surrounding areas. 
• If using benzoyl peroxide, use SkinRenew™ at the opposite time of day or as directed by your skincare professional,
