Product overview

Chief Collagen Protein sachets make your daily collagen as easy as tearing open a packet. Each 15 g serve delivers easy to digest hydrolysed, grass-fed bovine collagen peptides to support connective tissue structure for healthy skin, hair and nails, joints and tendons, and intestinal tract health. Chief’s collagen provides type 1 and 3 collagen in a small molecular weight hydrolysed peptide format (of less than 1kDa / kilaDalton), and is also hydrolysed, meaning it’s broken down into micro-sized peptides that are easy to digest and dissolve almost instantly in hot or cold liquids - no clumps, no chalky shaker bottle.

  • Great for active people looking to support joint, tendon, and ligaments recovery after training
  • Supports skin hydration and elasticity, including strong, healthy hair and nails
  • Provides structural amino acids like glycine, proline and glutamine, that support intestinal wall integrity and gut health and healthy digestion
  • Hydrolysed into micro-sized collagen peptides for easy digestion and high bioavailability
  • Heat-stable up to 300°C, so you can stir it into hot drinks or use it in baking
  • Independently tested for heavy metals, pesticides and herbicides such as glyphosate

Dark Chocolate is dairy-free and blended with cocoa and organic raw cacao. Creamy Vanilla gets its creamy finish from a touch of buttermilk and includes a prebiotic fibre to help feed your gut’s good bacteria. Unflavoured is a single ingredient at 96% protein, ready to disappear into coffee, smoothies or soups. No scoops, no mess - just toss a sachet in your gym bag, desk drawer or travel kit.

What does collagen protein do?

Collagen helps keep the body’s structural framework strong - think skin, joints, tendons, ligaments, bones and the gut lining. Its secret is a unique amino acid profile, with glycine, proline and hydroxyproline making up nearly half of its content. Hydroxyproline gives strength to collagen in bones, tendons, cartilage and skin, while glycine and proline contribute to healthy cell growth and protein structure.

Should I take collagen or whey protein?

It depends on your goals - and the good news is they work beautifully together. Whey is a complete protein rich in branched-chain amino acids like leucine, making it the go-to for building and maintaining muscle. Collagen isn’t a complete protein, but its unique amino acid profile makes it a great fit for supporting skin, joints, tendons, ligaments and gut health. Think of whey as fuel for the engine and collagen as maintenance for the framework. If you prefer to avoid dairy, Dark Chocolate and Unflavoured are both dairy-free.

How to use it?

Chief Collagen Protein powder is so versatile you will be spoilt for choice in how to use it. Why Collagen Protein?

Research shows collagen is particularly beneficial for gut health, joint & tendon health, recovery & hair, skin & nails. This is because it contains a unique combination of 18 amino acids, including Glycine, Hydroxyproline & Proline which account for nearly half of collagen's amino acid content. In this deliciously rich dark chocolate flavour we combine the antioxidants of raw cacao with the subtle sweetness of monk fruit.

FAQ's

The collagen protein itself is tasteless but the raw cacao and monk fruit deliver a deliciously rich dark chocolate experience. Perfect for hot chocolate, smoothies and baking.

Collagen is an odourless, tasteless, dairy free protein source that's a co-product of beef. We like it because it's a great environmentally friendly option and easier on the gut than other proteins like whey. Besides being a great protein source, there's also a bunch of new research suggesting it's beneficial for gut health, joint and tendon health, recovery and hair, skin and nails.

We use 100% Australian grass-fed bovine hydrolysed collagen peptides. Grown, hydrolysed and packed in Australia.

Yes! And more environmentally friendly than other protein sources such as whey, soy and pea.

Collagen is a co-product of animal agriculture which means if we weren't using it for a health food product it'd be going to landfill.

While grass-fed collagen isn't any better nutritionally speaking than grain-fed collagen, grass-fed is kinder to the planet.

Collagen Powder is a clean protein source that can be enjoyed daily by anyone. It's also great pre or post workout.

Yes! It's an essential nutrient. Collagen is also the most abundant protein in the body, so keeping up a healthy stock of collagen is important for us all, including kids who are growing fast.

We’re not allowed to give advice and you should always check with your doctor or health professional.

There is nothing in our products that we feel you would need to worry about. In fact, collagen is a fantastic supplement for mums who are growing human beings.

Yes!

Yes!

We can't give you that advice so you need to speak with your dietitian but we have had feedback from dietitians that all our products are suitable for diabetics.

No, collagen comes from animal sources so collagen is not vegan. There are plant based "collagen" powders starting to appear which essentially mimic the same amino acid profile of natural collagen, but to date there's not a lot of research showing it's efficacy and the research that does exist suggests you'd need 6 times as much to get a similar effect.

There are also vegan “collagen” products out there that don’t contain any collagen but claim to increase the body's own collagen production.

We do have many customers following a plant based diet who consume our products as a way to get important nutrients without eating meat. Think of collagen as an odourless, tasteless white powdered form of bone broth.

This collagen powder is certified Halal. It's not yet certified Kosher.

This collagen powder will last on the shelf for up to 24 months. The date on the product is a best before date, not an expiry date, which means it's a question of taste after that date.

This is because it can tend to get too thick and clumpy, and also to separate. Over time collagen protein in solution will start to denature (which occurs when proteins unravel and lose their structure) and it there is also a slight risk that microbes that may have been introduced from other ingredients or surfaces, could start growing. Refrigerating your shake will help preserve the structure of the protein, preventing unwanted clumping or separation, and also slow this down the growth of any microbes. Freezing will stop any micro growth and preserve the structure of the protein for a much longer period.
